30 Percent U.S. Federal Tax Break Available for Standalone Energy Storage System (ESS) or for Existing Solar Installations

LINDON, Utah — SEPTEMBER 20, 2022 — Humless, the first to introduce the U.S. to AC/DC coupling in a single management system, today announced another pioneering achievement. The company has been awarded the highly sought-after SGS NA listed to UL 9540 for its latest industry innovation—the redesigned and expandable Universal 6kW System. This coveted UL designation follows a rigorous value engineering and design process which has culminated in the next evolution in their sleek and user-friendly hybrid inverter system for energy storage. The system includes the Humless AC/DC coupled, UL listed in-phase inverter in combination with the Humless 5kWh Lithium-Iron Phosphate batteries which can be rack or flat wall mounted. Not only has the redesign resulted in significant cost savings for consumers, but it’s also immediately available.

“After listening to consumer feedback and following a huge amount of work by our team we are thrilled to be able to bring the most advanced energy storage system to market, not only catapulting our offering way beyond competing products but also providing the consumer with peace of mind brought by the recognition of being awarded UL certification, states Glenn Jakins, Humless CEO. “On top of this, the passing of the Inflation Reduction Act extends the revived 30 percent tax credit to energy storage, with or without solar panels not only allowing the consumer to finally leverage huge savings, but also being able to do so knowing that Humless’ cutting-edge technology is certified and backed by know-how and their steadfast and unrelenting pursuit of quality.”

Before the Inflation Reduction Act, installation of solar panels had to accompany energy storage to receive storage tax credit. Now, new home energy storage systems qualify for up to 30 percent tax credit as a standalone service. This change allows homeowners to configure their energy independence in a tiered approach. They can install the Humless Universal energy storage system now and add solar panels later—or visa versa. Both qualify for the extended credit.

Earth friendlLithium-Iron Phosphate (LiFEPO4) technology integrated in all Humless batteries uses no rare earth elements and is non-toxic, chemically stable, requires less energy in mining and processing, and has a longer life without the significant reduced capacity problems typical of lead- acid batteries. Humless batteries are also available in a waterproof variant allowing for even more installation versatility.

As the pioneers in the industry, Humless had foresight and ingenuity to combine simultaneous AC and DC Coupling, Multi-level Reticulation, Load Shifting, Power Shaving, and a Charge Controller into a single box. The solar industry has always trusted Humless batteries and now embraces Humless Universal Systems because they finally have a UL certified intelligent energy management system tailored to encompass all their customers’ power needs, all of this whilst lowering electrical costs and extending battery life in an earth friendly manner.
